This Privacy Policy explains how Audio Tasks, which refers to Wisp AI, Inc., and its affiliates and service providers (collectively, "Audio Tasks," "we," "us," or "our"), collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process information about people who visit our website, create accounts, apply for paid projects, participate in conversation recording work, or otherwise use our services (the "Services").

By using the Services, you acknowledge that we collect, use, and disclose information as described in this Privacy Policy. Your use of the Services is also subject to our Terms of Use.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Services, by email, or by another reasonable method. Your continued use of the Services after an updated policy becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Personal Data we collect through the Services. "Personal Data" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be linked to a particular person or household. This policy does not apply to websites, services, or organizations that we do not own or control.

  • You. For example, when you create an account, complete onboarding, apply for projects, submit recordings, contact support, or update your profile.
  • Your use of the Services. We collect certain information automatically, such as device data, logs, analytics, project activity, recording metadata, and technical diagnostics.
  • Third-party services. We may receive information from authentication, hosting, payment, analytics, communications, and other vendors that help us provide the Services.
  • Project partners and administrators. When a project involves a customer or business partner, we may receive instructions, review information, eligibility criteria, or quality feedback relating to that project.

4. How We Use Personal Data

We use Personal Data for the following business and commercial purposes:

  • Providing, operating, maintaining, securing, and improving the Services.
  • Creating and managing contributor accounts and profiles.
  • Matching contributors to projects and other speakers.
  • Recording, storing, reviewing, approving, rejecting, and paying for project submissions.
  • Generating technical artifacts needed to operate the Services, such as joint audio files.
  • Communicating about account activity, projects, submissions, support, and policy updates.
  • Processing payments, preventing fraud, and complying with legal and financial obligations.
  • Preparing, licensing, selling, reselling, delivering, and supporting datasets and related outputs for customers and business partners.
  • Using recordings and related data for AI training, fine-tuning, evaluation, testing, benchmarking, quality assurance, and product development.
  • Analyzing usage, debugging issues, training staff, and improving quality.
  • Protecting the rights, safety, and security of Audio Tasks, users, partners, and others.
  • Enforcing our agreements and resolving disputes.

5. Audio and Video Recordings

The Services are designed to collect paid conversation work. If you participate in a recording project, we may collect microphone audio, camera video, session metadata, transcripts or derived information, quality-review notes, technical diagnostics, and related files. Recordings may include your voice, image, environment, and anything you choose to say or show during a session.

You should avoid sharing sensitive personal information during a recording unless the project specifically requires it. We may use and disclose recordings and related materials to operate the project, review quality, pay contributors, deliver project outputs, create, license, sell, or resell datasets, support AI training, fine-tuning, evaluation, and benchmarking, improve the Services, and comply with legal obligations.

6. SMS and Text Messages

If you provide your phone number and opt in to SMS or text messages, we may send automated or manual messages related to your account, project opportunities, matching, recording sessions, submissions, review status, payments, security, and other service updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

We do not sell phone numbers used for SMS communications to third parties for their own marketing purposes. You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by following the instructions in the message, such as replying STOP where supported, or by contacting us.

7. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, pixels, analytics tools, and similar technologies to run the Services, keep you signed in, understand how users interact with the Services, prevent abuse, and improve performance. You can usually adjust cookie settings through your browser. Some features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

The Services do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals. We may use analytics providers, including website analytics and product analytics vendors, to help us understand usage and improve the Services.

8. How We Disclose Personal Data

We may disclose Personal Data to the following categories of recipients:

  • Service providers. Vendors that provide hosting, storage, authentication, analytics, payments, communications, security, support, and other operational services.
  • Project customers and business partners. Where needed to operate, evaluate, deliver, license, sell, resell, or improve a paid project, dataset, model evaluation, or related output.
  • Other users. Limited information may be visible to matched speakers or other users as needed to operate a project, such as speaker role or room status.
  • Authorities and legal parties. When we believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business transfer parties. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.

9. De-identified and Aggregated Data

We may create de-identified, aggregated, or anonymized data from Personal Data and use or disclose it for lawful business purposes, including analytics, product development, service improvement, research, and business reporting. We will not attempt to re-identify data that we maintain as de-identified except as permitted by law.

10. Data Security and Retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Personal Data. No internet service or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain Personal Data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain project records, process payouts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the Services. We may retain information in de-identified or aggregated form.

11. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 18, and users must be at least 18 years old unless we expressly allow otherwise in writing. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided Personal Data to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

12. Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your Personal Data. These rights may include the ability to:

  • Access, correct, or update certain Personal Data.
  • Request deletion of certain Personal Data, subject to legal, security, payment, and project-record retention needs.
  • Opt out of marketing communications.
  • Request information about categories of Personal Data we collect, use, and disclose.
  • Exercise other rights available under applicable privacy laws.

We may need to verify your request before acting on it. Some requests may be limited by applicable law, security requirements, project-record needs, payment obligations, or the rights of others.

California residents may have additional rights under California privacy laws, including rights to know, access, correct, delete, limit certain uses of sensitive Personal Data, opt out of certain sales or sharing, and not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights. Residents of the EU, UK, and other jurisdictions may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, data portability, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, subject to applicable law.

13. International Users

If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws different from the laws where you live.
